Kimberley Gutu, MBBCh, is a budding researcher and project manager at the Wits University Vaccines and Infectious Diseases Analytics (VIDA) Research Unit in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her research contributions to date include leading the team that ran adverse events of special interest (AESI) surveillance post COVID-19 vaccination, and she has worked on other COVID-19 vaccine studies that looked at effectiveness and vaccine hesitancy. She is also responsible for the surveillance of adult medical wards at Africa’s largest hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, South Africa.
