Kato Outhman Sengendo

Dr. Kato Outhman Sengendo is a pharmacovigilance professional with five years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree of Pharmacy from Makerere University, Dr. Sengendo has specialized in drug safety surveillance for public health programs. Currently, Dr. Sengendo serves as a Pharmacovigilance Officer in the Vaccines and Medical Counter Measures program area, under the Global Health Security department at Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University. He oversees safety monitoring of novel therapeutics and vaccines targeting emerging infectious diseases. He has coordinated programmatic roll-outs of COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, pre-emptive Ebola vaccinations and also manages the institute’s antiretroviral pregnancy registry.
