Deane Putzier is a healthcare software specialist with 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining USAID’s MTaPS Program, he has worked with MSH on many other projects (RPM, RPM+, SPS, SIAPS) both as a consultant/contractor and as a full-time employee on the SIAPS project in South Africa where he managed the creation and implementation of software tools, their governance and deployment processes.  He has also worked in the financial industry architecting and building of ATM and banking software applications.  Recently, he has been working closely with the National Department of Health in South Africa as a Senior Healthcare Software Architect.  His roles were as the strategic technical software architect for supply chain software initiatives and their interoperability.  The role required the co-ordination of multiple software solutions from multiple providers for the South African National Health Strategic objectives.  Currently he is a Senior Principal Technical Advisor on the MTaPS program responsible for Information Systems.

Deane was educated at the University of Port Elizabeth, Rhodes University & Fort Hare University (Nelson Mandela’s alma mater) in South Africa, and studied first as an Architect and later as an Information Systems specialist.
