Merhawi Bahta is a Clinical Pharmacist with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy. He is currently working as a pharmacovigilance officer and manager of the signal management section at the Eritrean Pharmacovigilance Center of the National Medicines and Food Administration (MOH, Eritrea). He is also a researcher having published and reviewed several articles for peer-reviewed international journals. Additionally, Merhawi had previously worked as a hospital pharmacist at Ghindae zonal referral hospital in Ghindae, Eritrea, from 2011 to 2017. He has also been a member of the Eritrean Pharmaceutical Association since 2012, where he served as vice-president of the association between 2018 and 2023.
