Edith Andrews Annan is a Pharmacist and Public Health Specialist with about vast experience working with the WHO both at the Country and Regional Levels in Pharmaceutical Policy Analysis and Development within the context of functional health systems. She is a graduate Pharmacist from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and has a Master of Public Health from the University of Ghana, Legon. She also holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of Bradford in Medicines Regulation and a Certificate in Project Management from the University of California, Irvine.

She has worked extensively within the WHO African Region providing guidance on access to essential medicines and other health products including assistive technologies, regulatory systems strengthening supporting countries to build their capacity and undertake self-benchmarking activities to develop their Institutional Development Plans (IDPs) to reach appropriate maturity level. She has provided technical support to countries for planning, implementing, and monitoring national strategies and plans for health products including pooled procurement initiatives, harmonization of pharmaceutical practises and local manufacturing.  She is based in Congo, Brazzaville and has oversight of Medicines and Health Technologies related activities in the African Region
