Frieda Shigwedha
Frieda Shigwedha is a Medicines Information and Safety Pharmacist at the Therapeutic Information and Pharmacovigilance Centre (TIPC) of the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council (NMRC), under the Ministry of Health and Social Services. With over five years of experience in regulatory affairs, clinical assessment, and pharmacovigilance, she plays a role in strengthening Namibia’s medicine safety and regulatory systems.
Frieda has been an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Namibia (PSN) since 2018, where she previously served as vice-president and president, and she also serves as a Pharmacy Board and Education Committee member of the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA). Beyond regulation, she has served as a consultant and assistant lecturer across various health related disciplines.
She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from the University of Namibia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Information Systems Management from NUST, and a Certificate in Dossier Assessment from the University of the Witwatersrand. Passionate about advancing regulatory excellence, Frieda is currently pursuing further studies in health management to position Namibia as a model for pharmacovigilance in Africa.
