Christabel Khaemba is the Head of pharmacovigilance at Pharmacy and Poisons Board and a PhD candidate at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden focusing on Pharmacovigilance in Neglected Tropical Diseases.

She is currently the Vice President International Society of Pharmacovigilance Africa Chapter (ISoP- Africa Chapter). Member of the African Medicines Regulatory Harmonization (AMRH) Technical Committee on Regulatory Capacity Development in Africa (ToR RCD).

Christabel has extensive knowledge in pharmacovigilance systems globally and has a keen interest in strengthening pharmacovigilance systems within the region and contributes to a pool of trained PV specialists in Kenya and gives honorary lecturers to both undergraduate and master’s students at the School of Pharmacy, University of Nairobi. Currently focused on strengthening PV in mass drug administration programs within the Vaccines and Neglected Tropical Disease programs through her PhD project. She is also passionate about patient safety and has supported the implementation of patient reporting in Kenya.
