Federica has been working as communications officer at Uppsala Monitoring Centre since 2017. She produces and hosts the Drug Safety Matters podcast and co-leads #MedSafetyWeek, a global annual campaign to raise awareness of pharmacovigilance among the public. 

She has also managed UMC’s social media channels, served as editor for the Uppsala Reports magazine, and delivered courses in pharmacovigilance communications, including signal and risk communication. Drawing on her background in biomedical research, Federica contributes a scientific perspective to other communication projects as well. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna, Austria, and a MSc in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Naples, Italy.
