Head, Signal Detection Section, Saudi Food and Drug Authority

Dr. Mohammed Ebrahim Fouda is a leading expert in pharmacovigilance and artificial intelligence, renowned for his innovative approaches to drug safety. As the head of the Signal Detection Section at the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), he has spearheaded initiatives that significantly improved drug safety regulations and surveillance in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Fouda’s expertise extends to the international arena, where he is an active member of the International Working Group for Drug safety and Research Unit (DSRU). He is also a sought-after speaker at international conferences, sharing his insights on leveraging AI to enhance pharmacovigilance and protect patient health.

His passion for innovation is evident in his leadership of the team that developed a first-place machine learning model at the SDAIA & Stanford Hackathon in 2023. Dr. Fouda holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from King Saud University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University.

As a Clinical Lecturer at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, Dr. Fouda is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of pharmacovigilance professionals.
