Hanlie Steyn

Hanlie Steyn is a senior lecturer at the North-West University (NWU) School of Pharmacy in South Africa. She is a researcher within the research entity, Medicine Usage in South Africa (MUSA). She holds a BPharm and MPharm (cum laude) from the North-West University (NWU). Her undergraduate teaching responsibilities include: Pharmacy Practice I (FPKG 113 The Patient) and Pharmaceutical Research (FNPG 421). She is the module coordinator and lecturer for the MPharm module PHPP822 (Pharmacovigilance). In 2019 she was invited to attend the WHO Uppsala Monitoring Centre International Pharmacovigilance training course in Sweden. She has successfully supervised or co-supervised five MPharm graduates. She is currently supervising two post-graduate students while pursuing her PhD in Pharmacy Practice with a focus on the integration of pharmacovigilance in Bachelor of Pharmacy programmes in South Africa. She has co-authored eight peer-reviewed articles.
