Important Notes
Please read the notes below before making a submission
You can submit your abstract for an oral presentation or as a poster presentation.
Abstracts already published elsewhere or based on full papers that have already been published will not be considered for inclusion in the program.
If you submit an abstract, it is with the intention that you will physically attend the conference to present the paper.
At least one of the authors (e. the presenting author) must register for ISoP Africa Chapter 2026. Those who are not already registered, should register immediately after notification of abstract acceptance, and latest by the 1st February 2026.
Only accepted abstracts, which have been received by the submission deadline as stipulated by the organizer, will be published in the conference booklet.
All accepted posters for the ISoP Africa Chapter 2026 Meeting are eligible for poster prizes which will be awarded to the three best posters.
General Submission Abstract Guidelines
Abstracts must be submitted online via the abstract management system before the final submission deadline of 1st January 2026.
Please note that abstracts sent by fax or e-mail will NOT be accepted.
Abstracts must be submitted in English only and consist of five sections as indicated in the table below “Abstract Layout & Formatting Instructions”.
An abstract can be submitted as specifically an oral presentation or a poster presentation or either an oral/poster.
The number of submitted abstracts is limited to three (3) abstracts per presenting author.
Up to 15 authors can be listed for an abstract (including the presenting author).
The presenting author is selected first; other authors can be added only when the presenting author is submitted. However, the author order can be changed if needed by swapping the names in the list of the authors displayed on the abstract management system, during the abstract submission process.
The first name in the author list is always considered to be the main/lead author, and the presenting author should be marked as such.
After the submission deadline, all abstracts will be automatically considered to be fully submitted and will proceed to peer review.
All accepted abstracts will be published as submitted in the conference booklet. It is therefore highly recommended to check the abstract for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formal structure before submitting.
The organizer reserves the right to edit abstracts, if necessary, prior to the publication in the conference booklet.
This year’s ISoP Africa Chapter Meeting intends to provide original and high-quality sessions focused on educational content that is free from commercial influence or bias. All presenters are requested to cooperate with this by declaring during the abstract submission process that the abstract is unpublished and original material.
The conflict of interest form must be completed for all abstracts at the time of submission and all oral presentations and posters must include a declaration of interests.
Please read the abstract formatting guidelines carefully.
Notification of Abstract Acceptance
Abstracts will be reviewed by the ISoP Africa Chapter 2026 Scientific Committee and a decision for each abstract will be notified to the submitting author by the 1st February 2026.
Notification of abstract acceptance or rejection will be communicated to the corresponding author’s/ submitter’s e-mail address (presenting author of the abstract).
Please note that if an abstract is accepted for presentation (oral or poster), at least one of the authors (presenting author) must register for the ISoP Africa Chapter Meeting 2026.
The Scientific Committee’s decisions will be based upon evaluation of the abstract’s scientific standard. The Scientific Committee will allocate each accepted abstract to the most appropriate form of presentation (oral or poster). After selection, all presenting authors will receive detailed information regarding PowerPoint preparation, poster size, style and layout, as appropriate.
