Dr. Gathai Mundia is a pharmacist, digital health innovator, and software developer from Kenya working at the intersection of pharmacovigilance, patient safety, antimicrobial resistance, and digital public health. He is the Co-Founder and Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Zihi Institute, where he supports community-centered health systems strengthening, AMR advocacy, and digital innovation.

His work includes the development of practical digital health tools that improve medicine safety, reporting, traceability, data use, and health system accountability. He is particularly interested in strengthening pharmacovigilance systems through patient safety approaches, including safer management of unused, unwanted, and expired medicines, improved medicine-use practices, and prevention of avoidable harm to patients, communities, and the environment.
