Jessica Yun
Jessica Yun is an epidemiologist with the Wits-ALIVE team at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she plays a role in the BRAVE (Burden and Risk Assessment of Vaccine-preventable diseases) project. She holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and completed the Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), South Africa. She has extensive experience in health surveillance, outbreak response, and public health data systems, and contributed to South Africa’s national COVID-19 response. Within the BRAVE project, Jessica leads key efforts in data quality assessment, multisite data integration, and analytical planning to ensure accurate burden estimation. She is particularly passionate about using high-quality evidence to inform vaccine decision-making and strengthen health system preparedness.
