Dr Magano Akuaake is an Emergency Medicine Specialist with an extensive academic and clinical background. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s degree in Emergency Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. She is currently completing her Master of Business Administration and has certification in AI in healthcare from Harvard Medical School.

At Okoshi Digital, Dr Akuaake focuses on developing context-responsive digital health solutions that strengthen healthcare systems. The Uukolele mobile application is one such solution, that is a patient-centred digital platform designed to enhance health data accessibility, medication adherence, and patient engagement. It integrates patient-facing tools that enable individuals to track medications and self-report adverse drug reactions, contributing to real world safety and impact.
