Paciencia Mandavela

Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council

Paciência Mandavela is a committed Health Programme Officer at the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council under the Ministry of Health and Social Services, working within the Therapeutics Information and Pharmacovigilance Centre. In this role, she is involved in the management and entry of adverse drug reaction, medication error, and adverse events following immunisation reports, contributing to medicine safety monitoring in Namibia.

Paciência holds an Honours degree in Health Information Systems Management obtained from the Namibia University of Science and Technology. She has experience in data capture, data quality assurance, data visualisation and pharmacovigilance gained through her role as a Health Information Systems Surveillance Officer and through public health projects, including the Saving Lives and Livelihoods initiative in Namibia. She is experienced in the use of VigiFlow system for pharmacovigilance data capturing and has completed training in VigiBase strengthening her capacity in global safety management.

Passionate about pharmacovigilance and public health safety, Paciência has also contributed to awareness initiatives such as MedSafetyWeek 2025 and holds several Uppsala Monitoring Centre (WHO-UMC) ccertificates in pharmacovigilance, including regulatory aspects, communication, and signal detection. Paciência is a member of the Local Organising Committee for the ISOP Conference in Namibia.
